News: Clemson Football Holds First Day of Two-a-Days

On the seventh day, the Clemson football team certainly did not rest. It was the first day of two-a-day practices for Tommy Bowden's Tigers, who started preseason practice seven days ago. Clemson worked for two and a half hours in the morning and two hours in the evening as the Tigers prepare for the season opener against Alabama on August 30.

Former LSU offensive lineman Jarvis Jones has transferred to Oklahoma. Sooner coach Bob Stoops confirmed the transfer today (August 7). The 6-7, 294-pound Jones will first be eligible to compete at OU in the 2009 season. "Jarvis is a talented guy who we recruited when he was in high school," Stoops said."We're excited that he has joined the team." Originally from Rosenburg, Texas and Lamar Consolidated High School, Jones played in seven games for LSU last season as a freshman.He saw action at both left tackle and right guard in a backup role.Jones logged 63 plays including a season-high 18 against Louisiana Tech.
