Breaking down the SEC East

Author: Jables

Spring ball has just started down here in the south, which means that the way too early predictions are out. Here are my predictions on how the SEC dominoes will fall next season.

We will start with the SEC East which many believe are having a down year this season.  With Tebow and the rest of his Junior Gator’s leaving for greener Sunday pastures, a new coach at Tennessee again, a new coach at Kentucky and Georgia coming off of one of the worst seasons they have had to date the entire East is up for grabs.

SEC East:

1. South Carolina 9-3

Honestly I think this is the year it all aligns for the Gamecocks, Spurrier will get another win in the swamp and lead his team to Atlanta finally.

2. Georgia 8-4

Ol’ Ugga will get back to winning ways, but will still be rebuilding. Grantham is bringing in the 3-4 scheme, and that is not mastered over night. I am predicting a win over rival Florida.

3. Florida 8-4

A down year for the Gators, Brantley may be an outstanding QB but as for now I am predicting losses next season for the powerhouse. Look for losses to come to Bama, UGA, SC and even Miss State giving Mullens a shot at his mentor (If Urban even returns.)

4. Kentucky 7-5

Kentucky is and will most likely will be a basketball school, but in recent years Coach Rich Brooks has been moving this program in the right direction. Granted Brooks retired at the end of last season, but I believe that his successor Joker Phillips will continue moving the program in the right direction. I am even predicting a win over rival Tennessee, and ending a nasty nasty streak.

5. Tennessee 5-7

Lets be real about it, that scum back Lane Kiffin screwed the University of Tennessee.  Where is the team could have been alright next season and right in the mix for a trip to Atlanta, now they not only lost their head coach in crucial recruiting time but also their super star running back who wants to go home to Kansas.  I like Derek Dooley, but the man was givin some bad cards.  Look for Tennessee to be back to rebuilding.

6. Vanderbilt 1-11

Well, Its Vandy and they have a tough schedule ahead of them.  I have their only win being over Eastern Michigan.

I am predicting that Spurrier and his South Carolina Gamecocks will finally make it to the “promise land” and play in the SEC Championship game at the Georgia Dome. Who will be their opponent? Check back in with me next week as I break down the West and finish the total picture of the Monsterous SEC!

Let the BIG dogs eat,

Jables
