Pocatello, ID --- Idaho State University's football program, looking to improve on a 3-8 season from a year ago, will open their spring practice on Tuesday at 4:00 pm inside of Holt Arena under the watchful eye of second-year head coach John Zamberlin. The Bengals will hold spring camp for four weeks, culminating in the annual Spring Game on Friday night, April 25 at 6:00 pm in Holt Arena.

  • UMass Announces Lights To Be Installed At McGuirk Stadium
    The 2008 CAA Football schedule was released Monday by Commissioner Thomas E. Yeager, and is made up of 91 games over a span of 13 weeks. The Minutemen will open the conference portion of their schedule on Sept. 13 when they travel to James Madison. They play their conference home-opener on October 4 when they play host to national finalist Delaware.

    The Western Carolina Catamount football team opened its annual spring drills with its first of 15 days of practice Monday afternoon at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field. The practice, which lasted just under two hours, was held on the turf opened under mostly cloudy skies with brief rain showers falling during the waning moments of the session. The Catamounts will have one more practice in just jerseys and helmets on Tuesday afternoon, with Thursday's session marking the first day in full pads. -

    Spring practice resumed for the Florida Atlantic University football team on Monday afternoon outside the Tom Oxley Center. The Owls were in full pads for full contact drills. Monday, the Owls worked on a number of individual drills. FAU worked at half speed, using this day as a tutorial for most of the second-unit players hoping to see playing time in the fall. Jeff VanCamp worked with the first unit. During most of the offensive drills, the Owls worked extensively on running plays, most of the running was done by DiIvory Edgecomb, along with Alfred Morris and David Muniz.

    The names of three former Notre Dame football all-stars -- Tim Brown, Dave Casper and Jim Seymour - along with that of 11-year Irish head coach Lou Holtz, whose 1988 team won the national championship, appear on the National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) ballot released earlier this month.

    Stony Brook University's football team began its spring practice sessions today with a workout in LaValle Stadium. Head coach Chuck Priore and his staff will put the team through its spring workouts over the next month that will culminate with a spring game on April 26.

When the Monarch coaching staff wanted to design a complicated workout regime for their 100 tryout players earlier this year, they turned to ODU mathematicians for help.
