The Lafayette football community gathered in Marquis Hall on Feb. 23 to close the 2007 season with its annual postseason awards banquet. More than 360 people were in attendance to celebrate a 2008 class that racked up 29 wins, the most since the class of 1927. Twenty seniors were honored for their dedication to the football team.

Highlighting those changes in 2008 will be the Bearcats' sideline move from the west side (press box) of the stadium to the east side (Herschede-Shank Pavilion) and the creation of the Bearcats Club in the atrium of the award-winning Richard E. News: USD Pro Timing Day Set For March 7th

(San Diego, CA) - The USD football program has scheduled individual workouts for its NFL prospects for Friday, March 7th, and for Thursday, March 13th. Both events will begin at 1 p.m. at the USD Sports Center weight room, and conclude at the Manchester Athletic Field with the on-field workouts. The on-field workouts are open to both the media and public. Torero players taking part in this Pro Day include quarterback Josh Johnson, defensive end Eric Bakhtiari, receiver Wes Doyle and linebacker Ronnie Pentz. 5 Central Arkansas players suspended

Five Central Arkansas football players were suspended indefinitely on the first day of spring practice Friday for an unspecified violation of team rules. Coach Clint Conque suspended running back Curtis Marks, defensive backs Henry Minor and Carlos Smith, and defensive lineman Norvel Gabriel, all freshmen last year, and also sophomore defensive back Phillip Johnson. Athletic director Brad Teague said in a statement the players were suspended, pending further investigation.
